How can starting with just a few easy plants build confidence for new balcony gardeners?

When someone is new to balcony gardening, enthusiasm hota hai, par knowledge thodi kam hoti hai. Agar shuru se hi 15–20 different plants le aate ho, har ek ki alag zaroorat, to stress ho jata hai. Paani kitna? Dhoop kitni? Fertiliser kab? Confusion hi confusion.

Starting with just a handful of easy, forgiving plants—like money plant, snake plant, areca palm, jade, or simple flowering varieties—lets you learn slowly. If you make small mistakes, these plants usually survive and recover. You start understanding how soil dries, how leaves react, how much sun your balcony really gets.

As your confidence builds, you can add a few more varieties each month instead of dumping a nursery’s worth of pots in one go. Garden bhi naturally grow hota hai, and you don’t feel like you’ve taken on one more full-time job.

It’s better to have five happy plants than twenty dying slowly.
